20x200Artists Jonathan Allen

Jonathan Allen was born in 1975 in Wisconsin, grew up in Atlanta, and moved to New York at the age of 18. He holds a BA in Visual Arts/Art History from Columbia University.
He has exhibited work at Oliver Kamm/5BE Gallery, Artists Space, Exit Art, PS122, and the Bronx Museum, among others. Allen participated in the Bronx Museum's Artist in the Marketplace program and is a recipient of grants from the Puffin and George Sugarman Foundations.

Allen's most recent project is an outdoor 10 x 28 foot vinyl collage, now on view at Socrates Sculpture Park as part of the group exhibition 'Waste Not, Want Not'. In September 2008 he will exhibit work in 'A Wrinkle in Time', a group show at Rotunda Gallery in Brooklyn. He is currently in residence through the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and has a studio overlooking ground zero which inspires him daily.
