Joseph O. Holmes grew up in a tiny factory town in rural Pennsylvania where his father taught him how to take pictures and to print in the darkroom.
Since 2004, Joe's prints have hung in a dozen shows around the country, and his "amnh" series is included in the DVD collection "Photography Now: 100 Portfolios." He teaches photography at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
At various times Joe has been a Legal Aid lawyer, a prize-winning screenwriter, a freelance magazine journalist, and a janitor. His short stories have appeared in the literary journals North Atlantic Review and Phantasmagoria.
Joe settled in Brooklyn in 1984 where he lives with his wife and two children.
