hobbies:
I translate my imagery into needlepoint which I do by hand late at night while watching old movies. This obsession with the grid (and pixels!) has inspired me to design a line of rugs which are hand-knotted in Nepal by expert (adult!) artisans.
Inspirations:
Pipilotti Rist, Jessica Stockholder, Antoni Miralda, George Herriman, Rene Magritte, Jorge Pardo, Suzanne McClelland, Francis Bacon, Elizabeth Murray, Beatriz Milhazes, Alexander Girard, Archigram, Dr. Seuss, Giotto, Michael Craig-Martin, scores of un-recognized wallpaper designers, package designers, typographic designers and decorative artists
Dream vacation:
I'd like to have a few months in a house out of the United States - India? Greece? With a view of the water, a giant studio, a giant dining table, a few guest rooms to invite friends and collaborators, and plenty of time to read, cook, swim, reflect, be inspired and make art.
