Artist Statement

 

My work is about finding the unexpected in the everyday. I always have an idea of what I'm looking for, but I never know exactly what it is until I see it. I love the idea that, as Garry Winogrand said, "the photograph isn't what was photographed. It's something else. It's a new fact."

 

Landon Nordeman | See All Editions

 

Landon Nordeman (b. 1974) is based in NYC. He is a contributing photographer for The New Yorker and Saveur, and shoots for commercial & editorial clients around the world. His work has been commended by American Photography, Communication Arts, Pictures of The Year International, The PDN Photo Annual, The Best of Photojournalism, The Center for Documentary Studies, PDN's 30, The Society for Publication Design, and The James Beard Foundation. Landon's photographs have been exhibited around the world, including the Howard Greenberg Gallery in NYC, and The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, among other venues. His photos are also in the collection of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and numerous private collections.
