When I first started painting watercolors I got with a hit with a bolt of inspiration—paint a donut. Later, the same bolt hit me—paint a calendar of donuts. Three years later, my Donuts of the Bay Area calendar has brought me nothing but joy. The donut is basically my mascot and spirit pastry. It helped get me from being miserable at a desk job to full-time art and illustration.

She tried music school, took a detour through the marketing department, and is grateful to now have a paintbrush in her hand.
