Wild Life (The national parks preserve all life)

As part of the New Deal Works Progress Administration, the WPA Federal Art Project created posters used to publicize local events, health and educational programs, and more. The main goal of the project was to employ struggling artists while the country recovered from the Great Depression.
Of the many posters created from this project, the WPA National Parks posters are among the most popular. Wild Life (The national parks preserve all life) was drawn by Frank S. Nicholson, one of many artists working out of the New York poster division. This image was part of a series to raise awareness of the National Park Service's commitment to conservation and preservation of wildlife, natural scenery, and historic objects.
