Flemish
painter
Clara
Peeters’
life,
her
work
had
immense
influence
on
the
trajectory
of
still
life
painting
as
an
independent
genre.
Born
in
Antwerp
in
the
late
16th
century,
Peeters
was
one
of
the
few
women
artists
to
work
professionally
in
the
early
1600s,
largely
due
to
sweeping
restrictions
on

access

membership
to

guilds.
