All of the Colors: Hand Drawn Circle

  • $1.00

A couple years ago, I met someone in person after only knowing them through mail and the internet. I send books and drawings and other things I make in the mail to people and I often wonder what happens to these things once I put them in the mailbox or hand them to the person at the post office. I sometimes think they just disappear. When I got to the person's office I saw that he had one of my drawings on his desk leaning up against the wall. I liked the idea that the drawing still existed and it made me feel good (and excited!) that he enjoyed it and was hopefully continuing to get enjoyment from it after all of the years since I had made it. The other day, I was in the gift shop across the street from the Museum of Modern Art waiting for a friend who was in line to buy something. Near the registers, I found a batch of those rainbow colored pencils that most of us used to draw with when we were little. They are fun to make pictures with. I pulled one out and pulled out my sketchpad to test it. I made a circle in my pad. There was something about the colors that excited me and I immediately wanted to make hundreds of these circle drawings and get them to everyone I could. I am making these color circles in the hopes that you will find some enjoyment out of them. You can buy one for yourself and or you can buy one for a friend or you can buy one for a stranger. I bought an old Natural History Museum pennant with an Apatosaurus on it from a vendor at a flea market one time. After I bought it he said, I hope it brings you many years of joy. That is what I feel about most of the things I make and then sell or give away. I hope that if you want one of these drawings, you get it, and it brings you many years of joy.
