I sketched a series of suns to work through my anxiety during the tumultuous few days after the 2020 Presidential Election, before the winner was declared. These suns took the form of the Black women whose organizing and whose votes ultimately led to Joe Biden’s and Kamala Harris’ victory over the incumbent President. Creating these was an act of hope, a nervous anticipation of potentially sunnier days ahead.
