Dress Like A Woman
Select your print and framing options
Throughout recent art history, the majority of women within pieces are depicted by male painters as sexual, maternal, or a stereotype of the like. As gender becomes progressively more fluid, Amber has personally felt empowered to break the trope of an 'ideal physical female,' to propel forward her ideals of femininity and her sense of the female form.
Although several of her pieces are rooted in these raw thematics of femininity and physical identity, the bright, bold palettes she pulls from are a celebration of the power, strength, and intelligence of the woman. In specific, Dress Like A Woman leverages physical traits such as body hair, overtly extended limbs, and abstracted features.
