A peek into our founder Jen’s new(ish) home.

At 20x200, we're very curious about how folks go about making their homes feel uniquely special. 20x200 founder and CEO Jen Bekman has spent a lot of time in this headspace recently, having moved earlier this year. Since it's nesting season, and we're offering 25% off custom framing (with code FRAMEFORFALL—only through tomorrow!!) to help our collectors with their decorating needs, we asked her about her experience moving with her art and settling it into her new home:

Earlier this year, we moved into a house that we hope to stay in forever. Naturally, hanging my art collection is a major part of making ourselves at home, and we're off to a great start! Unpacking it all and arranging it has also been an excellent reminder that the polish and presentation that you get with professional framing is worth every damn penny.

I've got a LOT of art (for obvious reasons!) and it's framed every which way you can imagine. Some was bought already framed, and there's plenty of DIY in the mix. (I'm not averse to popping an inexpensive piece into a frame I grabbed at Target!) But in the end, it's the custom-framed pieces that really shine: mats cut just right, hanging hardware that makes it easy to keep things on the level and the confidence that the materials are archival, ensuring that the art it's encasing will endure for years to come.

And yes, we know that one of our pieces above the fireplace is crooked. That's thanks to a roofing project—proof that the work never ends—and potentially the perfectly-imperfect, lived-in final touch. Some folks like to decorate their house in one fell swoop, while others prefer this process to be a more organic one that happens over time. Whether you're the former or the latter, our fall framing sale is for YOU. And if you get the sudden urge to completely re-hang your gallery wall with your new, gorgeously-framed edition as its focal point, don't be surprised! Our impeccable frames perfectly showcase each piece—and nobody has to know that you got it at a serious discount.
