Last chance to collect “Silver Lake” for a good cause!
Heads up! Today’s your very last chance to take home this limited-time, limited edition, super special pay-it-forward print from photographer Jessica Zollman. Why so special? Well apart from the fact that it’s only available until 11:59pm PT tonight, 10/6 (MAKE YOUR MOVE!), 100% of profits from this sunny, SoCal succulent photo are going to support Equitable Giving Circle.
Based in Portland, OR (where Zollman lives herself!), EGC is a Black Women-run, peer-led nonprofit dedicated to building immediate and increased equity throughout Portland’s BIPOC communities. Their early initiative took on the increase in food insecurity that came along with the COVID-19 crisis, disproportionately affecting Black and brown people. Working with BIPOC-owned farms, they fed hundreds of families with free weekly meal boxes. And they’re just getting started! Read more about EGC’s ethos and future projects in the pipeline here.
In the meantime, don’t forget to scoop up your edition of Silver Lake. Zollman captured this perky aloe plant while walking through the artwork’s namesake LA neighborhood. The pale blue wall helps those yellow buds pop, the bright, direct sun defining every last detail, making those shadows extra crisp. It’s a testament to Zollman’s powers of observation, a meditation on the beauty of small moments that might otherwise be easily missed, and the sort of artwork that’ll play well with any interior style. Most importantly, it’s a reminder to stay tuned in—to your surroundings for sure, but to your community too, seeking out and educating yourself about the grassroots orgs furthering the causes that matter most to you and showing them love however you can.
So collect Silver Lake by 11:59pm PT tonight, 10/6 and we’ll send 100% of profits to EGC and 100% awesome art to you. You can always donate directly to EGC too! And stay tuned for more of this sorta thing in the months to come.
With art for everyone,
