Jason Polan x Baggu: puffins + camels + bees, oh my!

Zoo Baggu by Jason Polan
25.5"x15.5" ($10)

What do you get when you combine everyone's favorite foldable tote with an ark of animals by the 20x200 artist who drew Every Person in New York? Our founder, Jen Bekman, describes the magic of this marriage below ...

New on the site today is something I’ve been wanting to share with y’all since the summer months, which is when my superbud Jason Polan let me have a peek at his upcoming collaboration with Baggu. (This was literally a peek at an image on his phone, which he only showed me after I was sworn to secrecy. I felt so special.) Anyhow, it’s a secret no more and even better, we’ve got lots of these babies in stock and ready to ship. Behold: Zoo Baggu!

If you’re not yet familiar with Baggu’s reusable bags, well… ok that’s kinda weird ‘cause they’re almost ubiquitous at this point, but also you’re welcome. You are gonna love your sturdy, lightweight and eminently portable Baggu for its practicality, but you are gonna love it even more because it’s also a canvas for Jason’s enchanting koalas, kiwis and myriad other animals whose names don’t begin with k. (Horseshoe crabs! A pangolin… or maybe it’s an armadillo? Hard to tell, maybe Jason can tell you. Also I think there’s a flying squirrel maybe? There’s definitely a bat.)

You’re also gonna love Zoo Baggu because $10 is a small price to pay for a little daily spark of joy. It’s also the sorta joy that’s verrrry giftable, so if you’re the kind of person who curates a cabinet chock full of gifty things for future giving, you might wanna buy 5 or 10 of them. Which is a thing that yours truly actually did.

Bonus: we'll slip an original Jason Polan drawing into three—and only three!—lucky Zoo Baggu orders. Get yours now for your chance to take home two Polan pieces!

Should you need further enticement, well whaddya know? I’ve got MOAR in the form of a golden ticket situation that we’ve cooked up. Jason created 3 versions of the giraffe drawing you see in the photo above, and nope, your eyes are not deceiving you. The medium is indeed black Uni-ball Vision Elite pen on a rather fetching Lassie notepad.* We’ll be shipping one of those drawings to 3 different (lucky!) Zoo Baggu purchasers, each of them chosen at random.

Last but not least: if Zoo Baggus and Lassie Giraffes are not quite enough Jason Polan for you, the podcast I recorded with him a while back is one of my favorite ones yet and you can listen to it here.

And with that I bid you adieu and say: Go forth and Baggu, would you?

With art for everyone,
Jen Bekman

* Big shout out to JP for delivering these drawings to our intrepid Production Manager Carly last Thursday evening, which happened to be a miserably rainy evening + also the day before he left for a trip. Thank you, we love you.
