New! Uehara Konen’s timeless, tender night

It’s official: our clocks are set back. We relished that “extra” weekend hour and are ready to settle in for some long winter nights. HBD Hilma! A new edition from the mother of abstraction

Our newest Vintage Edition—a celebration of color, shapes, and abstract art in their purest forms—honors the mother of abstraction herself, Hilma af Klint, on what would be her 159th birthday. The Swan, No. 17, Group IX/SUW is part of a group of 24 oil canvases created between 1914 and 1915. More geometric in style than the Ten Largest group, the Swan paintings employ symmetry and balance throughout the series, often displaying a single form repeated or mirrored in abstract ways across the...

New! Greyhound: modern design in a 20th c. woofcut print

The dog days of summer may be over but this pooch is poised for year-round pizzazz. Our latest Vintage Edition, Greyhound comes from Austrian artist Moriz Jung (1885-1915). Originally a postcard, Greyhound was created by Jung in 1912 for the Wiener Werkstätte, a Viennese production association of artists, architects, designers, and artisans. A talented illustrator, Jung’s woodcut prints were bright and often jovial, characterized by thick lines and a graphic style. His subjects often included caricatures of cafe-goers, early aviation, and of course, dogs.

Shana Tova! A sweet start c/o Alfred Stieglitz

September often prompts us to reflect and dial it down just as the temperatures do, and this new Vintage Edition shot by Alfred Stieglitz is a gentle reminder to do just that. Captured in 1922, Gable and Apples embodies a buoyant optimism in a moment of stillness.
